Research Question: what is the effect of different surface areas of coffee when brewed on the germination of cress seeds?
Independent variable: surface area of coffee
Dependent variable: the number of seeds that germinated
Independent variable: surface area of coffee
Dependent variable: the number of seeds that germinated
Method
1.Grind and Brew the coffee as seen in the previous method
2.Place 5cm3 of distilled water in 3 different petri dishes
3.Place 10cm3 of the different brewed coffee in each petri dish
4.Place 5cm3 of pH7 buffer in each petri dish
5.Using the lid of the petri dish as a template to cut circles from a double layer of tissue paper
6.Place 10 cress seeds in each petri dish.
7.Put the petri dishes in an incubator.
8.Check them at the start and end of each day to see if they have enough water. If they don’t add an appropriate amount of water which should be equal to all petri dishes

Results:
Nº of seeds germinated: 10 in control, 1 with beans, 0 in medium ground and small ground
Nº of seeds germinated: 10 in control, 1 with beans, 0 in medium ground and small ground
Conclusion:
Coffee inhibits the growth of cress seeds.
Evaluation:
Taken more photos of the experiment during the growth of the seeds, to show the process
Do more trials, to have more reliable and accurate data
Risk Assessment:
Glass beaker containing brewed hot coffee breaking
